guidelines for papers preparation and submission

Papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format through the ANTEM 2005 Electronic Paper Submission System to be accessed at antem2005.ietr.org ( click here ) at the latest on January 6, 2005. Other formats like Word (*.doc) or Postscript (*.ps) cannot be accepted nor can we accept submissions by hardcopy, fax or e-mail. You can use Adobe Acrobat, Ghostscript or any other conversion tool to create PDF files but avoid using the "PDF Writer" which creates insufficient files for high quality printing. Make sure you embed all the fonts in the PDF file and create a high quality (high resolution) PDF. When using Adobe Acrobat please choose the "PRESS-READY" option to create your PDF (Never use the "PRINT-READY" or "Screen" or "E-BOOK" option!). If you use any other PDF tool always choose those options providing the highest quality (e.g. in Ghostscript choose the 720 dpi option and set Options/PDFSETTINGS to /prepress). Detailed instructions on how to create PDF files can be found here.

The language of the symposium is English. Manuscripts should be formatted single-spaced using the following layout and sized for 21 x 29.7 cm (8.2 x 11.6 inch) on A4 paper. All margins should be set at 1.9 cm (.75 inch), exept the bottom margin 3.81 cm (1.5 inch). The title should be ALL CAPS, BOLD (12 point) and centered at the top of the first page. Author's (authors') name(s) (10 point), should be centered on the second line below the title, and the organizational affiliation(s) including city, country and e-mail address (9 point), should be one line below the name(s). Body text (10 point Times Roman font) should start on the third line below the last affiliation. The body text should be formatted in two columns, justified with a 0.4 inch (1 cm) space between columns, and single-spaced, leaving a space between paragraphs (no indentation) and headings. Do not number your pages. All papers will be printed in black and white only (figures, sketches, illustrations, photographs, lines, etc.), color is not acceptable for printing. A model for latex is available here.

Each paper is limited to four (4) pages, including text, references and figures, any pages in excess of this limit will require a page charge of 5.00 € per page over the limit. This page charge must be submitted along with the registration fee, before 1st March 2005.

The authors of all accepted papers (at least one author, in case of multiple authors) are required to pre-register for the conference and to present their papers orally in the assigned technical session. In case of multiple papers submitted and accepted by a presenting author an additional publication fee of 50.00 € for each additional paper will be applied and must be submitted with the registration fee, before 1st March 2005. If the presenting author has not pre-registered by submitting the required non-refundable registration fee and additional fees (page and/or publication fees, if applicable), before the deadline line, the corresponding paper(s) will not be included in the publication of the conference proceedings and may be withdrawn from the conference program.

VERY IMPORTANT

Each paper must also include a completed and signed Submission/Copyright form , which can be either faxed or sent by mail. Missing copyright forms will make it necessary to reject the paper. It will be understood that all submissions have been cleared by the sponsoring agency.
